Thirty-nine-year-old Carol Lee Leazer-Hardman, and 35-year-old Michael Condor filed a police report to that effect on Wednesday, KSL-TV reports, but upon investigation, their donut story started to crumble.
Cops discovered the claimants had "spiked" the baked goods from Smith's Food and Drug store themselves, and deliberately ate some of the shards to try to get money from the establishment.
In addition to charges of filing a false report, they also could face an aggravated assault charge because they allegedly let a co-worker bite one of the tampered-with pastries. Thankfully, that co-worker, a female, wasn't injured because she spit out the shard in her donut.
