The idea for Dan + Shay’s “Glad You Exist” started in Dan Smyers phone as something he says to his wife…and this was before the events that surrounded 2020.
Shay Mooney says that as the song came together during quarantine, they realized that not only would “Glad You Exist” now mean something different for their fans – it means something different now to Dan + Shay as well.
